The Pollution's eponymous LP was assembled in a bedroom studio in South East London during the coronavirus pandemic. Written & produced by bass trombonist & guitarist Dan West, the album features substantial musical contributions from a stellar cast of professional & session musicians in London & from as far afield as Calgary, Canada. Primary collaborators include bassist/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Brendan McGuigan, drummer/percussionist Ric Elsworth and the trumpet & spoken word of David Geoghegan. The influence of artists such as Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Wolf Parade, Arcade Fire, Talking Heads, Oasis, Bloc Party & IDLES is evident throughout, though the album is woven together with uniquely rich, brass-heavy textures to create a uniquely affecting portrait of this precarious era.
